Colombian entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to migrate to Canada: learn how to do it

The world offers different opportunities for foreigners to have opportunities outside their country of origin. One of them is Canada, where there are plans for people to migrate, not only personally, but also with their business or entrepreneurship.

According to experts in this type of migration process, there are different ways to establish themselves in that country, which is attractive for entrepreneurship because it has a low-tax environment for businesses to prosper.

To achieve this, there are a few steps that must be taken into account before:

First: have a developing company or venture that is generating sales and traction.

Second: develop a business plan focused on the expansion of your company venture into the Canadian market.

Third: initiate a process of registration and legal incorporation of the company in Canada

Fourth: start the process of visa and work permit procedures in order to expand your business in Canada.

This North American country is attractive to entrepreneurs and companies for several reasons, according to experts, including a territory greater in size than Colombia, but with a population less than 12 million; which has led the government to generate policies to motivate people to settle there.

Likewise, the cost of living in Canada is on average between 15 and 20 per cent lower than in the United States and has an unemployment rate of around 5.6 per cent. In addition, its business fabric is made up of micro, small and medium-sized companies.

According to experts from eDooConnect.com, more than 30% of businesses in Canada are created and developed by migrant populations and are responsible for more than half of the generation of new jobs. And entrepreneurship in that country is no less, more than 100,000 new businesses are created year by year.

More than 35% of these new businesses remain in force and grow for more than 5 years, one of the most important retention rates in the entire region (In Colombia, only 8% of companies manage to maintain themselves for more than 5 years).

EdooConnect.com has held several seminars to advise people interested in migrating, some of them free as last year together with Canada West University (UCW). This year they will also hold a new edition called Connecting Canada: “The Business Route”, in which they will give expert advice on migration, business development and entrepreneurship issues.

There, entrepreneurs interested in expanding or creating their business in Canada will be able to begin their process to reach the northern country, in which lawyer Andrew Carvajal and economist Andrés Felipe Rey will be present, who have several years of experience, in their own companies, advising others on how to migrate.

The event will feature the participation of the Colombian-Canadian Chamber of Commerce, the Embassy of Canada in Colombia and the Ministry of Commerce. Registration, at a cost, can be done through the website of EdoConnect.com, organizer of the event.

For this month, a Canadian company offers more than 30 vacancies in the automotive sector. This job offer is part of an agreement of the Public Employment Agency of the Seine with other countries for Colombians who meet established requirements.

According to the call for employment, the Québec based company is looking for 30 “automotive electrical mechanics”, in addition to “three auto mechanics technologists”. The deadline to apply for this offer is April 7, 2022 or until the number of applicants required is met.
